Thomas Tenzler receives ESLW Best Student Poster Award
Thomas Tenzler received the Best Student Poster Award at the European Semiconductor Laser Workshop 2024 (ESLW) in Kassel.
His poster presented simulation results of a Bragg reflection waveguide (BRW) laser from the VOMBAT project. The aim is to convert laser light at 775 nm into entangled photons at 1550 nm through "spontaneous parametric down conversion" (SPDC). The simulations showed that a frequency-selective DBR grating improves the wavelength stability of the BRW, which is important for phase matching.
VOMBAT is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) in collaboration with IAF Freiburg, HHI Berlin, and Saarland University.
