Chip design and processing
The Laser Modules Lab develops specific laser modules for a wide range of applications.
These laser modules are powered by specially designed laser diodes and semiconductor-based amplifier chips.
The diodes suitable for the construction of these modules are designed, manufactured and finally integrated into laser modules in the Laser Modules Lab in cooperation with the Optoelectronics Department and the Departments of III/V Technology.
One focus of the development work is the processing of laser diodes with DBR surface gratings, which enable diode lasers with high spectral radiance.
Two further key aspects in development are the wavelength ranges
- 626 .. 647 nm and
- 1120 .. 1180 nm
