WOCSDICE-EXMATEC 2024 Best Student Paper Award for Petros Beleniotis
Petros Beleniotis received the Best Student Paper Award at the WOCSDICE-EXMATEC 2024 conference in Heraklion, Crete, Greece for his paper “A Computational Modeling Method for Performance Optimization of GaN HEMT” in collaboration with Christos Zervos and Matthias Rudolph.
The study introduces a new method using computer models to improve the performance of GaN HEMTs, which are used in microwave power applications. The method combines specialized software with a detailed model to simulate how the device works, and how crystal defects (acting as electron traps) impact efficiency and power output. This information helps in understanding how to design and improve these devices for better performance in practical applications.
